Our Mission:
The Women's Outreach Center (WOC) is committed to addressing issues of gender, celebrating diversity, developing leaders, empowering women, and promoting women's achievements.

Welcome to the WOC!

You may know us as advocates, activists, teachers, speakers, runners, climbers, or dancers. You may have seen us educating campus women and men about breast health, sexual assault prevention, equality and diversity, or safer sex.

You may have seen a sexpert, a condom fairy or a Sooner Ally on campus and wondered, “Who’s that?”

The Women’s Outreach Center has been serving, educating, and supporting campus women for almost ten years. It all started with a needs assessment in the 1990s, when Lesley Kelman researched women’s centers around the country and gained the support of First Lady Molly Shi Boren to develop a center here at OU.

Since that time, the WOC has added, adapted, and expanded a variety programs and projects. Some of these, like the Clothesline Project and Breast Health Awareness, are highly visible. Others, like our Sexual Assault Response Team and confidential referral, operate out of the public eye.

We offer support, information, entertainment, and volunteer opportunities. We can help you develop, strengthen, and provide the resources you need to become the woman you want to be, or just provide fellowship and a place to hang out. Come check out the WOC’s sunny office and comfortable couch anytime Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We are located in the Oklahoma Memorial Union, room 247.
