Panhellenic Overview

Overview
When you join one of the National Panhellenic Conference sororities at OU, you also become a member of the Panhellenic Association. The University of Oklahoma Panhellenic Association is the umbrella organization for the NPC sororities chartered at OU, and is responsible for organizing activities of mutual concern and interest to all the sororities on campus. The National Panhellenic Conference, founded in 1902, is the encompassing organization for 26 international women's fraternities and sororities. Each member group is autonomous as a social, Greek-letter society of college women and alumnae. Members are represented on over 600 college and university campuses in the United States and Canada and in over 5,300 alumnae associations, making up over 3 million sorority women in the world.

Panhellenic Creed
We, as Undergraduate Members of women's fraternities, stand for good scholarship, for guarding of good health, for maintenance of fine standards, and for serving to the best of our ability, our college community. Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony with its best possibilities, is the ideal that shall guide our fraternity activities.

We, as Fraternity Women, stand for service through the development of character inspired by the close contact and deep friendship of individual fraternity and Panhellenic life. The opportunity for wide and wise human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live.
